Meet our council

Along with Elders, Staff and Ministry Leaders, Cornerstone Church has a Council of Deacons. Modeled after Acts 6:3, the Council of Deacons are selected to be servants of the body in the area of practical and administrative duties. These tasks include developing and administering governance as well as appointing leaders to fulfill the mission of the church. Council members can be men or women who are "full of the Spirit and of wisdom" and must meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:8-12. The Council will be marked by integrity, prayer, diversity of viewpoints, strategic thinking, a focus on the future, and a proactive attitude. The Council is expected to keep its commitment to excellence in governance through planning, education, training, and self evaluation and per our governance policy, will be composed of not less than 5 people. New members are selected by the Council through an interview process and approved by the Elders and by the body. A servant's heart and love for the Lord are of utmost importance.
