Elders Newsletter - April
April - 2024
This month the elders have received Todd back from sabbatical. It has been good to hear the stories of how God has refreshed him over this time. It is a good reminder to us all to take the time to be with God. I love that the prayer ministry is focusing on sabbath over the month of May. So much we could learn and benefit from enjoying time with the one who knows us best, knows our needs and how to help us live a full life. This is rest. This is sabbath. Thank you to all who were patient with us as we picked up the workload that allowed Todd this opportunity. The elders are excited to be vetting long time member Nate Davis as a potential elder. Nate and Anna have served faithfully for years as well as raised up a lovely family that has learned to do the same. The measure of a healthy church is not in how polished is the weekend service, how much the church tithes, or how many are in attendance. No, the health of a church is measured in the service of the next generation. Thank you to the Davis family for their humble leading, teaching, and discipling of this and the next generation of souls sold out for Christ. The search to fill the Community team lead position continues. The elders are taking applications for this full-time position. The interview team has been chosen from among the elders, leaders, and church members. We appreciate your prayers in this process that this highly visible and integral position be one of God’s choosing. | |
As always, be watching for new groups, classes and events here at Cornerstone. Information is available on the lobby screens, the online bulletin, and website. The newcomers lunch was a great time of getting to know each other and enjoying lunch from our new kitchen ministry leaders. Cornerstone also hosted the annual fundraiser for Kingdom Pillars, our partnering ministry that cares for women who have escaped trafficking. We also had a spring clean up day around the building.
